Our Values
Guiding Values
Based on our reading of Scripture, the following values will guide Journey Church:
- Christian life is a process.
- People are constantly changing. Our goal is to help people’s change to be positive, moving toward maturity in the way of Jesus.
- The Bible is our ultimate authority. We recognize, however, that our understanding of Scripture is a work in progress, requiring humility and regular re-examination.
- Conversion to the way of Jesus is an ongoing process.
- Christian life is relational.
- No one should travel alone. Our commitment to Jesus binds us together, irrespective of age, gender, ethnicity, or any other distinctiveness.
- Christian life is missional.
- The Journey community is an expression of the worldwide kingdom of God. Our mission is to reach out to the world in service and invite those outside our community to join us on the way of Jesus.
- Christian life is active and includes:
- Intentional Discipleship

Journey Emphases
- Atmosphere
- We strive to create an atmosphere that is authentic, safe, enjoyable, and simple.
- Expectations of grace
- We expect each other to grow in each of the three “journeys”.
- We acknowledge setbacks as a reality of Christian life.
- We expect members of Journey to extend grace to each other as God has extended it to us.
- We are committed to giving our very best to God, the Journey community, and the world.
