Journey Youth

Youth are growing, changing, and developing in new and rapid ways every day. At Journey we want to encourage and facilitate that change by helping our youth take important steps towards God. All young people walk their own journey in their own way. We are committed to creating environments in which this can take place.

At Journey, we value the power and potential of small groups. Incredible things happen when a small group of people commit to travelling on the journey towards God, each other and the world together.

Because we value this as a vital environment through which discipleship, relationship building and spiritual growth happen, it is also important that all of Journey, no matter what age and stage of life, have the opportunity to participate. Our youth are no exception.

Grade 7-12 students have the opportunity to choose to participate in the following:

A Sunday morning class is offered every second Sunday. Journey youth will join the adults for the beginning of the worship service at 3:00 pm and will be dismissed to their class at the appropriate time.
Youth with join the adults in the gym for the large group gathering on the alternate weeks.
Monthly large group events. These events will include some social time as well as some teaching and studying of Scripture together. Students will have the opportunity to live out their faith together in service to their community. They will be able to bring their friends to join them on the Journey.
Opportunities to serve in many areas at Journey as they are gifted. Currently several of our youth are involved in assisting in the areas of nursery, preschool and greeting. Those areas continue to be available to the rest of the youth. Other possibilities are available. Please have your child ask if there is an area they would like to be involved in.
